If....for my PRESIDENT=>BARACK OBAMA

The weight that is on this mans shoulders, not even the 43 before him can understand. He is in a position that no other man has been in. He is the first, AFRICAN-American man elected to the highest office in the United States of America. He is for all that we know a happily married man to one woman, the only woman and is raising his children. Is this why they hate him, because he isn't living up to their stereotypes? Are they threatened? Were they not aware that this type of man existed??

It truly angers me that all of this is on him but this is what he was destined for, I can't change that and neither can the HATERS. I know Katt Williams said a HATERS job is to HATE but geesh, take a break. I was truly taken back by an article I read about Dan Rather saying some rather unsavory things about MY PRESIDENT. I don't know if Kevin Powell was thinking of this, the overall cloud of dissension that surrounds President Obama or something totally different when he posted this on Facebook yesterday but it is fitting.

Kevin Powell Rupyard Kipling's IF poem is very appropriate right about now, especially the first few lines....

Rudyard Kipling
If

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Not speaking as a fan of Kevin Powell but that man is on point! If you haven't read any of his works you are truly missing out. He is a talent to be reckoned with, and he's my birthday brother...check back on April 24th for my tribute to him, just a simple poem.

P.S. I wonder is it wrong to use something in your blog that someone else does...I don't mean verbatim words just little nuances you might appreciate...hmmm

Ahh Beautiful Monday...

This was a BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL day! After the past few snow storms, this warm weather is so welcome!
The weather inspired me in so many ways. Being able to get out there in the sunshine and cool breeze in a beautiful park and just be thankful for it all, PRICELESS!

My cousin said to me today "I don't have to subscribe to your way of thinking" while we were having a conversation about my male friend. He explained that he can ignore but my friend can't, he can tell me I'm crazy but my friend can't...because he's family. I thought this over while taking a soak in the tub. Who subscribes to my way of thinking? Would that be the people who laugh at what I think is funny? The people who agree with my opinions on politics, religion, etc? Those that call on me for advice? How can I capitalize on this: people subscribing to my way of thinking??? Come to think of it...I'm already two steps ahead of the game. I have a forum to get said thoughts out there so that someone might want to subscribe....could that be you?
I think I'm going to use that in an argument. I really like how that sounds...I don't have to subscribe to your way of thinking!!!
Do we unknowingly subscribe to peoples thinking by agreeing or is just merely by hearing them out as they rant and rave?

WELL FOR SOME OF YOU OUT THERE HERE IS MY NOTICE:
I AM CANCELLING MY SUBSCRIPTION
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!!!

Are you looking for....

Outplacement Services
So, I was thinking, what would be the term for outplacement services if the same information was imparted to high school seniors and college students. Is there a term for that already. Having been through some outplacement services sessions recently, I think EVERYONE could benefit from this information. If this information is ingrained in your being when you actually NEED it, it would be easier.
The most valuable part of the whole idea of the outplacement sessions for me was the sense of reality about the current job market but at the same time the CONFIDENCE that you, well I, have something valuable and unique to offer some company/organization.

So, with all that being said, is there anyone out there looking for a quirky, shy individual who has a passion for organization, technology, writing, music, research, list making and helping people among a few things?

Its Friday, unemployed Friday is so different from employed Friday. Although I've been busy and productive its just not the same.

What I have enjoyed is:

-actually making a list and being able to complete it all...that's just so fulfilling!!!
-making my list of WHAT I THINK I WANT TO DO and finding out the pros and cons with just a google or two...LOL
-working on my social media profiles,its a great way to get to know you and the you that you want others to know so that they want to know you...whew!
-spending time with my DROID...gotta love that phone but along the way I have found there are things not to love.

Well...off to begin the weekend (I have no TO-DOs as they are ALL DONE, now I've gotta make stuff up...LOL)

Heres to a GREAT WEEKEND and a productive new week ahead!

What Song Describes Your Life???

I once did one of these quizzes and thought...I don't know this song, the lyrics make no sense and says nothing about me and my life. Today,as I set out to begin blogging(again...not successfully the first time)I thought, how do I describe me,myself,my life. So, I googled: what song describes your life. You might think why choose a song, and I would think why not? I LOVE MUSIC. So here are my results.

These Walls by Teddy Geiger. You've seen life at its worst, and at its best. You are just recovering from a broken heart, even if you don't know it. You know how to enjoy the good things in life, and hate the bad things. You live life to the fullest even though sometimes there is something holding you back.

I can't believe what is in front of me
The water's rising up to my knees
And I can't figure out
How the hell I wound up here
Everything seemed okay when I started out the other day
Then the rain came pouring down
And now I'm drowning in my fears
And as I watch the setting sun
I wonder if I'm the only one
[Chorus]
Cause everybody tries to put some love on the line
And everybody feels a broken heart sometimes
And even when I'm scared I have to try to fly
Sometimes I fall
But I've seen it done before
I gotta step outside these walls
I've got no master plan to help me out
Or make me stand up for
All the things that I really want
You had me too afraid to ask
And as I look ahead of me
I cry and pray for sanity
[Chorus]
These walls can't be my haven
These walls can't keep me safe here
And now I guess I gotta let them down
Cause everybody tries to put some love on the line
And everybody feels a broken heart sometimes, yeah
Even when I'm scared I have to try to fly
Sometimes I fall
But I've seen it done before
I got to break out...
I got to break out...
I got to step outside these walls
Love outside these walls
I feel my heart breaking
But its a brand new day
I'm going down
I'm stepping out
I'm stepping outside
These walls
(I've seen it done before.. I'm walking on, I'll walk it off, oh I'm moving on)

Maybe as I blog along and you join me, you'll see just how much this song is me. I've never heard this song before, never heard of the artist, but the whoever penned it knows me more intimately than any stranger I've never met.

I hope you enjoy...
